Single boiler, dual-purpose system

  • Brass: Boiler is made brass which retains heat better than stainless steel. In general, brass boilers are more susceptible to limescale compared to stainless steel boilers. We highly recommend utilizing the water softener included with the machine.
  • Quick warm-up time: From a cold start, it takes approximately 5-10 minutes for the machine to reach its set temperature at 200 °F (93 °C). Before this time, the machine modes will not function. It will take another 5-10 minutes for the rest of the machine (grouphead & portafilter) to fully heat.
  • Dual Purpose: This means there is one boiler inside. The machine heats and rests in coffee mode. When the steam switch is depressed, the same boiler heats up approximately in less than 1 minute to get to steam mode. One super nice safety feature is that when the steam switch is depressed to off, the machine will run the pump to get fresh water into the single boiler to bring the temperature down. more importantly, on many other machines that do not have this auto-refill process, you can damage the heating element if it is not submerge in water.

LCC – Lelit Control Center

  • Temperature adjustment: The temperature of the boiler can be adjusted to suit most espresso coffee blends through the LCC.
  • Shot timer: The shot timer starts as soon as the coffee switch is engaged and can be programmed from 0-50 seconds. The shot timer does not stop the espresso extraction. The coffee button needs to be depressed to stop the extraction. It was set up this way in case a greater extraction was needed.
  • Preinfusion: Pre-infusion can be turned on or off within the LCC.
  • Fahrenheit or Celsius: AFTER the machine is powered on, the “+” can be depressed and held and then the ‘-‘ key can be depressed and held to convert which temperature scale is desired. Once the scale menu is shown, the minus key can be depressed to change. Check out our technical support article about changing from Celsius to Fahrenheit on the temperature display!
  • LCC Reset: Need to reset the LCC to original factory settings? This is easy! Just hold the “+” and ‘-‘ key depressed, then power on the machine until it says “Preset Done” on the LCC. Power ff the machine, then power it back on. please note the machine will attempt to refill the boiler with water, so please open the steam valve open using the steam valve knob.

Pressure gauge

  • Brew (pump) pressure gauge: Located above the LCC. Measures between 0 – 16 bar. The optimal range is between 8 – 9 bar, and you can achieve this by the amount of coffee in the basket, the tamping pressure, and the fineness of the grind.

Tank/reservoir system

  • Particle filter: Protects the machine from any unseen particles from entering the pump and boiler. You can remove it if you are installing an inline water softener.
  • Auto-shutoff: Prevents burning out the heating element. The water tank sits on a spring-activated plate. Once the water is low, the spring-activates the plate lifts off the switch which turns off the heating element.

Steam / hot water wand

  • Multi-directional: Allows for more movement and flexibility. The wand has a rubber grip which helps you position the wand without burning your fingers.
  • 1-hole steam tip: Allows for maximum steam power without running out of steam that can happen on 2 and 3 hole steam tips on a single boiler, dual-purpose espresso machine.
  • Rotational knob: Located on the right side of the machine. It allows for easier control of the intensity.

Vibratory pump

  • Efficient: 41 watts, rated up to 15 bar with air valve bypass. You only need 9 bar to extract espresso, and wattage does not correlate with longevity.
  • Cost-effective: Pumps will degrade in performance over time. Replacing a vibration pump will be less costly than a rotary vane pump.

Accessories included in the Lelit Victoria

  • Portafilter: 1 dual spout portafilter. The handle has an angle that allows it to rest on a flat surface. This eliminates the need for a tamping station. There is a Lelit logo is imprint on the portafilter head and brown handle.
  • Filter baskets: 1-cup filter basket which holds approximately 7 grams. 2-cup filter basket which holds approximately 14 grams. Blind filter basket for backflushing. 58 mm in diameter.
  • Tamper: A cheap plastic tamper, common for most espresso machines to keep the overall selling price of machine low. We recommend upgrading to a better tamper.
  • Scoop: Simple plastic scoop if using preground coffee.
  • Water softener: Helps reduce limescale buildup in your machine. In addition, we highly recommend that you replace the existing particle filter and install this water softener.
  • Instructional manual: Written in 7 different languages (English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Romanian, Russian). Instructions also work for the Lelit PL81T Grace.

10 reviews for DISCONTINUED Lelit Victoria PL91T PID Single Boiler Espresso Machine

  1. Michael Murphy (verified owner)

After using both a La Pavoni and Ascaso machine over the last 5 years, the Levit PL91T has been a big step up in quality of the espresso I been able to make. The construction of the unit is very impressive.

The machine is somewhat tall sitting on a kitchen counter top.

The only issue I have with the unit is opening to refill the water reservoir is on the small side; making some what difficult to refill.

  2. Jeffrey Abbott (verified owner)

I waited several weeks of use before I wrote this review. I’m happy to say that this machine is everything I hoped it would be. It is beautiful, fit & finish are
excellent and it makes great expresso. The unit arrived in perfect condition after being shipped 5000 miles. The functions all worked perfectly and in my opinion Lelit has the best pdi in the industry. I’ve had several expresso machines, some that cost more and some less but none that made a better expresso
    than the LelitPL91.
Informationally, 1st Line was the most helpful of any Coffee/Expresso company I communicated with. I talked several times with Jim in the past 2 years and
he was very knowledgeable and helpful answering my many questions. I don’t give many A+’s to companies but 1st line is right at the top of the list.

  3. Hiroyuki K

This machine is just what I am looking for as first time buyer. Maintainance, functions, durability and size. Fit well in my kitchen with grinder which is Mazzer Mini. I use everyday. No issues so far.

  4. Stephanie B

We absolutely LOVE our Lelit Victoria espresso machine! Now, if only we could get the William grinder, our coffee bar would be set!

  5. Jim Gerlacki (verified owner)

I’ve had the Victoria for a few weeks now and have learned so much about the process of extracting good espresso. This is my second espresso machine and an upgrade from my previous Ascaso Dream, which I had for about 10 years. Even after that time I’m really just learning and getting serious about espresso. The Victoria is quite an upgrade, and it shows in every facet. The build quality is outstanding, as expected, and the packaging ensured that it arrived in pristine condition.

It has taken me quite a while to get dialed in on this machine, partly because I followed Lelit’s recommended 14g dose for the double basket. That is not a 14g basket. Every attempt using 14-15g ended badly with brew times at about 12-15 seconds for a 2:1 recipe, and a soupy mess left in the filter basket with so many grinds up in the dispersion screen that I was disassembling it and washing it out constantly. I had to adjust the grind finer and finer until I bottomed out my grinder (Rancilio Rocky) trying to get a decent shot.

After I sized the basket on my own and found it to be about 17.5-18g, things have been beautiful. It’s the best espresso I’ve ever made, and easily repeatable! The PID temperature control is a game changer, and it’s been fun to have that extra control to play with. Overall I love this machine, and am very happy with my decision.

The only issue I have with it is the water reservoir. Considering all of the excellent engineering that went into this machine in just about all other respects, the reservoir is a head scratcher. First, as others have noted, it’s somewhat difficult to get in and out of the machine. The space is narrow, and there are sharp edges from the stainless sheet metal body panels that stick about 1/4″ into the space. It’s nothing that a few minutes with a file can’t smooth out, but I’ve cut my hand on them and it’s silly that they left it in that condition. Also, while the reservoir is quite large it is fully enclosed in the body of the machine, so there’s no way to see how much water is in it without opening it up, reaching in and lifting it to test the weight. Considering the weight of the machine and the height, that means pulling it out of it’s place under the cabinet, which is not something you want to do if you can help it. It hasn’t yet run out mid-shot or in the middle of steaming milk, but it’s bound to happen.

I’m super pleased with this purchase and would buy it again in a heartbeat, my comments above notwithstanding. If you’re in the sub-$1000 market, I don’t know how you could do better than this.

When my very old and oft worked on Fiorenzato Briccoletta developed an electrical short, I decided enough was enough, regardless of the beauty of the machine. I felt I just wanted an easy dependable shot, with the capability of a good latte drink once in a while. So my research first led me to the Bambino Plus – until I actually saw one. No way I was putting up $500 for all that plastic! So I dug much deeper, and finally concluded that the Victoria offered the best combination of construction, flexibility, repeatability, and price. For the quality of the steel construction, I felt that $1,000 was better spent than the $500 for the plasticky possibilities. I have now been using the machine for just a few days, and still have lots of dialing-in to do, but already can consistently pull better shots than I was getting on the Briccoletta. I probably am a particularly good candidate for the SBDU machine, thought, as the Bricolletta took about three or four times to heat up, including lots of temperature surfing (eliminated here by the programmable PID). In conclusion I am perfectly happy already, and expect to become even happier over the next few weeks as I zero in on the perfect shot!

  7. Dave Jacobowitz (verified owner)

I bought this machine ins Sep 2021 from 1st-line, so I’ve had it 2 1/2 months.

This is my first espresso machine, after spending a lot of time and effort trying to get espresso-like experiences from Aeropress and Moka pots. I have to say … I love it. It is a solid machine, looks great, has good temperature stability thanks to the PID. It has worked perfectly since I got it.

I use this machine with a 1Zpresso Jx-pro hand grinder, and I’ve had really good results.

The OPV on mine came set to about 10 bar. That is, that what it will show on a choked shot or blind filter. I haven’t bothered adjusting it down to 9, since it seems close enough, and generally, I get 9 on my actual shots anyway.

My machine is under a counter, so filling it is somewhat annoying. I have found that I can use a funnel to fill the water container from a pitcher without having to remove it. I find this less fussy overall.

I’d say my only regret has been that maybe I should have gotten an Elizabeth instead! I make milk drinks for my wife every morning, and I do not like waiting for the steam to be ready, and waiting much longer for the espresso to be ready again if I have used steam. I have found the steam power itself more than adequate, it’s just the waiting I don’t like. But the Elizabeth is another $600, so … I can live with this.

PS — Yes, the cup holder rattles. I have found that putting little rubber “dots” (easily available on Amazon) between the drip tray and the grate eliminates the problem entirely.

  8. Jae (verified owner)

I’ve been using this machine daily for about a year now, and it’s nearly perfect. Only two notable flaws: 1: the valve to adjust the pressure is fragile and easy to chip, requiring replacement. The fragile brass set screw should really be made of stainless. 2: As other others have noted, the plastic water tank is located inside the body of the machine, in a compartment lined with sharp protruding steel. It really ought to be fillable from the outside if it’s going to be in such a place. Once dialed in, however, it pulls a wonderful shot of espresso.

  9. Jerry (verified owner)

So much of what has been written is true so i wont reiterate. Ours is used everyday for cappuccino ‘s. Does a great job once dialed in. Only complaint is the cheap power switch which has broken twice since 2018. 1st-line carries replacements but for a solid machine i wish they would have installed a more robust switch considering its flipped every use.
