Description
Lelit PLA482A 58.55 mm Pre-tamp Coffee Leveler
This Lelit 58mm Pre-tamp Coffee Leveler works on 58.55 mm opening on portafilters, like the Lelit PL162T Bianca. It helps even out the coffee grinds in your filter basket. The black portion of the leveler sits on the rim of the portafilter so it levels the coffee perfectly. It also scrapes the excess coffee around the inside rim of the filter basket. (AKA: PL121PLUS)
Also known as a tamper leveler, leveling tool, distribution tool, or pre-tamp leveler.
Adjustable
The depth is adjustable by about 1/4″ by unscrewing the metal portion counterclockwise. There is a gasket that keeps the unit steady while turning. However, if you adjust too far (gasket goes beyond the black portion), the leveler will not turn properly.
Tamp by Volume
Most people use this as a pre tamp and then use a regular tamper to come in with full pressure. However, if you tamp by volume, then this tool may be all you need. The max depth this leveler can extend is approximately 1/2″.
Italian quality
This leveler is made in Italy. The black handle portion has the Lelit logo. A perfect complement to your Lelit espresso equipment.

After adjusting the grind to the perfect size and gram amount, this leveler acts as leveler and tamper in one. I purchased this exact leveler on another website, for twice this $ amount, and then this one showed up online. I’m not sure why, but I would have bought it here first had I found it here first, because 1st line equipment is top notch with everything. I really like the way they care.
I’ve built and maintained espresso machines for years, and along the way I have been watching their videos on YouTube. I have watched other espresso machine sellers and I just prefer this place over everyone else. The people here are just real, and I can relate. As a result, I have purchased everything I can find for my own espresso experience here, first.
