Lelit MC920-120 Heating Element – 1400W, 120V
This heating element (MC920-120) is for the Lelit PL62 Mara espresso machines and Lelit Bianca (steam boiler) espresso machines.

- Please note that the manufacturer has and will change the brand or wattage of a heating element without notice. For example, an original heating element with 1400 watts may be changed to 1200 watts or vice versa without notice from the manufacturer. This is considered and accepted as standard business practice by all manufacturers and will be accepted upon order.
- Please note that heating elements can ‘look’ used. We do receive them from the manufacturers with white powder or a green oxidation. This is how they are delivered to us.
- Typically, 1.5 inch socket is needed

The one I got turned out to be 1200W instead of the original 1400W, which was mentioned as a possibility in the description. I was bummed at first but have to admit that I can’t tell the difference. It was pretty simple to replace even though I didn’t have the 38mm socket that would have made this a 5 minute job…so it may be worth borrowing or buying one. I needed to remove the sides and access port on the bottom as well as one copper tubing on the bottom of the boiler to make room for my large adjustable wrench. Before removing the element, I drained the boiler by blowing compressed air into the steam wand with the hot water valve open. I noticed the gasket only fits properly one way so be sure that the ridge on the gasket fits cleanly into the groove on the heating element. I used a little bit of Food Safe Lubricant (McGlaughlin Oil Co Petrol-Gel) to help the gasket stay in placed on the heating element as I screwed it into the boiler.
I purchased this in a feeble attempt to fix my Lelit Bianca that was taking forever to heat up and recover after steaming milk. Even though my ohms meter reading indicated the element was good, I heard it could be suffering from severe lime scale on a forum. After 3 descalings, I gave up and bought a new element since I couldn’t think of anything else that might cause the heating issue. I was so bummed with the problem remained. I eventually began to suspect the solid state relay and decided to switch the coffee and steam boiler relays to help troubleshoot. I found the problem moved to the coffee boiler, which isolated the problem to the relay…so another $100 later everything is working…and now I’m trying to sell my old and perfectly good heating element on eBay. D’oh!
