Use an app on your smartphone to control settings (brewing temperature, pre-infusion time) before the brewing process.
NOTE: To get into Wi-Fi mode, the keylock needs to be turned on to the 3 o’clock position. To turn off Wi-Fi mode, stop the phone app, and get into brew mode, the key needs to be turned to the 12 o’clock position.
Please note that the phone app has to be closed AND the Wi-Fi connection has to be terminated before the espresso extraction can start. This means the phone app is not live time during the espresso extraction process.

This is an excellent, capable machine. I just unboxed mine and made some espressos.
The portafilter baskets come in 7gr and 17gr sizes, along with a blind basket for cleaning. When making your shots, you need to give yourself a little time to practice. While this machine does have a handle on it, it only operates an electrical switch, and cannot be used to feather the shot. You need to shut off the flow a little bit before the desired target weight. A Rancilio portafilter also fits, so if you have baskets that don’t fit in the Elektra portafilter, you can use an alternative.
The espresso pressure on mine came set at 10 bars. There is an adjustment on the bottom of the machine for the pressure. The steam and the hot water seem to be fine. I didn’t have any milk handy, so I didn’t try immediately.

Elektra Verve what a spectacular machine, mine arrived 12-11-20, First Class job palletizing the machine. Plenty of hot water and steam, love the PID on the brew boiler. So far all is great. Thanks Java Jim!

Have it exactly 2 weeks now. Didn’t plumb in yet at Jim’s request. Makes good espresso. The internal WiFi gets lost occasionally and won’t come back until you shut the power off and back on again, which is definitely an issue with anything new especially at $3500. I know the is 1st generation, so I hope this problem will be addressed. Unfortunately since the machine has its own WiFi and doesn’t read an external one, the only way I see this issue being fixed is having to be taken in and not possible through a wireless update
Other than that, the only other issue is no matter how far in advance you warm it up, it still requires a 3 second group flush before the saturated group boiler starts to warm, which takes about 9 or 10 additional minutes. If you power off and on the already warmed up machine due to WiFi loss, the machine again asks for that 3 second flush, but will only take about 2 minutes to say its “ok” to brew

Quick Background: In 2008, I purchased an Elektra “Sixties” T1 commercial (HX) espresso machine from 1st-Line for use in my home. Overkill, perhaps, but it’s worked perfectly ever since…until a power failure and an open valve “killed” it. Now, DB machines for home use weren’t really available back in 2008, and my first thought was to replace my HX machine with a DB, and now that Elektra made one…I was there! It took three shots to dial in the grinder. Not only was the espresso was great, but the from the very first latte, the steamed milk microfoam was smoother, creamier, and sweeter than I ever achieved with my T1. Love this machine, and I recommend it without hesitation.
