Vibration Pump

  • Efficient: 41 watts, rated up to 15 bar. You only need 9 bars to extract perfect espresso, and wattage has no correlation to longevity.
  • Cost-effective: Pumps will degrade in performance over time. Replacing a vibration pump will cost less than a rotary vane pump.

External Glass Water Tank

  • Ease of use: The unique design of the water reservoir outside the espresso machine makes it easy for many reasons. It makes filling easier and reduces the chance of spillage inside the machine. Most single-boiler espresso machines do not have low-water sensors to check the water tank levels. With the Bellona’s setup, knowing the water level is very clear.
  • Perfect positioning: The flexible tubing allows you to place the water tank on either side or even behind the machine.
  • WARNING: This machine uses an external glass reservoir which can break and breakage is not covered under warranty.
  • WARNING: Since this machine uses an external reservoir, the machine can run without water and cause damage. Please insure the reservoir is always filled to the maximum line as these damages will not be covered under warranty and any returns will have the credit charged for repair of the damages.

5 reviews for Bellezza Bellona Dual Boiler Espresso Machine

First to be fair, the 4 star rating is based on only one month of use and therefore reluctant to go higher or lower. The unit I purchased is for our second home where we do more entertaining thus the reason for the dual boiler purchase.

Highs: Ease of use. Price, where can you get a dual boiler for under $1500 with these features. But the unit is built solidly Consistent water temps, and steam temps. Fast turnarounds between shots and flexibility of shots. We had four people staying at our house and could pull consistent multiple shots as well as frothing of the milk with ease. That in it self makes this a worthwhile machine.

So far better than average consistency in every shot, still working on grind and timing. Ease of using wand for the steaming. Size, not overwhelming and the flexibility of the glass reservoir makes for smaller imprint on smaller kitchens as well as knowing how much water is in reservoir at all times, Fast heating for boilers, some dual boilers can take longer than 20 mins or more, this comes to temp within 5mins, useable with in 10 for consistency of shot. Ability to adjust time for faux pre-infusion, shot timer and I love the use of Bar pressure when pulling shots.

Cons: Bought the first generation Bellona from a different dealer and failed out of the box the one I am reviewing worked like a charm from day 1. Like any new unit and this is no different, getting the right grind and shot level to one’s desire level takes a lot of time and beans and should not be expected out of the box. But again that is true of any decent espresso machine. I am still after a month experimenting to get the God Shot. Almost there though. Must have a quality grinder to really obtain the potential for this unit, so not just any grinder will do. Not built in Italy, while a solid design, there is some compromise on build quality both internal and external. However nothing to dissuade from purchasing as this is a very solid unit, which IMHO I find the machine quite Purdy.

How 1st line can sell this machine for the price I paid is beyond me. It’s beautiful and has every feature I could imagine in a 2 boiler. Do not let the separate, glass, reservoir dissuade you, it’s easier to fill than conventional in-machine reservoirs. The manual is not well edited, but once you figure out how to change the temperature, pressure, pull-time, and other parameters this machine provides, everything else is completely intuitive for full-pull crema.

I’ve had a super automatic for years so I was a little nervous about getting a semi-automatic. I did a lot of research and I knew I wanted a solid machine without all the flash and chrome. The Bellezza has really delivered. The machine feels very intuitive, which has been nice for someone new to espresso. It took me about a week of just playing around with the grind, dose, timing, etc but I now pull a shot I love. Additionally, it didn’t take long to get AMAZING milk out of the machine. With all the tutorials out there I thought I’d spend the rest of my life perfecting milk foam, but I’ve been able to achieve a wonderful cappuccino, which is my preferred cup. I do recommend getting a thermometer for your milk jug, it really helped. Anyway, I don’t usually leave reviews but I’ve been really pleased with my purchase so far and wanted to share.

I was nervous when considering this machine because of the newness and therefore limited reviews of the company Bellezza. But I couldn’t resist the offering so went for it. And it is so far really amazing, you actually get a dual boiler, PID controlled machine with very high end finish in a small foot print. One review had a negative comment about the controls, but honestly they are not flimsy at all. Only negative is that you have to separately purchase the normal size steam handle if you have average space under your counters. Its inexpensive but just a tad annoying.
