Heat exchange system

• Brass – The boiler is brass which retains heat better than stainless steel. Very durable and provides very dry steam for frothing milk. Typically brass boilers are more susceptible to limescale when you compare to stainless steel boilers. Therefore, we highly recommend using a water softener.
• Pull a shot & steam milk at the same time – Steam is always readily available. Hence, there is no wait time going from coffee to steam mode.
• Heating element – Armor-plated, 800-watt.
• Pump-operated to deliver water to grouphead and to refill the boiler.
• Boiler pressure relief valve for safety
• Three-way solenoid valve to relieve pressure in grouphead when finished extracting espresso to avoid “espresso explosion” when removing the portafilter handle.
• Top loading water basin for easy refill and for continuous water delivery (manual switch by the operator) so the machine does not have to be shut down like hand lever models.
• Automatic pressure/temperature regulator.

Operation

• Three switches – The power switch is on the left. The center button is for boiler refill. The right button is for coffee extraction. Each button has a plastic cover to protect them from accidental spilage.
• Sight glass – Indicates the water level in the boiler. Look at this gauge while refilling the boiler with the center button.

Steam wand

• Twist knob – This knob allows for quick turn-ons & off action and easy control of the intensity.
• Easy assembly – We ship each Elektra Microcasa Semiautomatica with the steam wand off to prevent damage in transit. To reassemble, you can easily screw on by hand and then use an adjustable wrench to tighten.
• 3 hole – More holes makes for faster frothing.

Construction:

• Body – Beautiful long-lasting handcrafted chrome finish.
• Eagle – Situated on the dome with wings up. Connects to the water tank dome with a screw and washer.
• Base – Large, round base. Approximately 10″ in diameter for the stability of the unit on your countertop.

Accessories included

• Portafilter – Dual spout. New wood handle. 58mm in diameter. The Elektra “K’ logo is on the filter head neck.
• Filter baskets – 1-cup holds approximately 7 grams. 2-cup holds approximately 14 grams. Both measure 58mm.
• Tamper – Cheap plastic. We recommend upgrading to a better solid tamper.
• Scoop – Simple plastic if you are using preground coffee.
