Rocket EPICA – No Pump on Lever Pull Down

There is a chance the wire was loosened in shipping or transport. First step is to unplug the machine from the electrical outlet and allowing to fully cool.

First place to check is by removing the wood cap on the grouphead. Allen key required to remove 3 Allen keys. Picture below shows it removed.

Below shows a 3 pin connector. Tug on all three wires on each side and well as disconnect the 3 pin connector and re-attach. Pull only from the black connectors, not the 3 wires. You can test the machine with the cover off, but do not stock in any objects or body parts into the mechanism when pulling down.

Next step is to check the connection on the other side. Please unplug the machine from the electrical outlet and allowing to fully cool. The water reservoir, top panel left body panel and brain unit cover needs to be removed. Allen keys and a small Philips head screwdriver are need in addition to a 7mm socket wrench.

On the top panel by the reservoir, please remove the reservoir, the 4 Philips screws on the reservoir platform and the one Allen key screw towards the front.

In the next picture of the other side of the top panel, please remove the one Allen key screw and lift off the top panel.

Make sure the steam valve handle is removed. Already removed side panel in pic below, but the 2 fingers are pointing to where the 2 Philips screws need to be fully removed. Underneath the same side panel, there are two 7mm bolts that just need to be loosened.

On the left side, one brain unit can be accessed by pushing in the little tab and pulling the cover from the top. If difficult, use a flat head screw driver to slightly push it in and pull the cover.

On the motherboard, locate the 3 pin connector (red green and black wires) of the lower left side of the motherboard on the Rocket EPICA dual boiler lever espresso machine. Slightly tug on each wire and then pull out the black connector entirely pulling from the black connector only. Reattach and test machine after inserting the reservoir (maybe difficult and plugging back in). Make sure to not stock any body parts or any other items into he machine while operating.
