Lelit 9700015 1/4″ Bleeder / Vacuum Breaker Valve
Lelit High Quality Bleeder / Vacuum Breaker Valve – Used for Lelit Elizabeth espresso machine models with serial number 265330 and earlier.

The purpose of this 1/4″ valve is to remove the vacuum pressure in the boiler. Without this valve or if stuck in the closed position (usually gets stuck in open position), the boiler will create a vacuum pressure when the machine is cooled down with steam inside. This vacuum pressure will give a false reading to the pressurstat and the machine will not heat up the next time the machine is powered on, unless the steam or hot water valve is opened to release the vacuum pressure. Hence, the name breaker or bleeder valve.
It is normal for this part to spew a little water and steam when the machine is warming up. It is not normal to constantly pour water out (due to using distilled or purified water) or constant steam (indicating of oxidation and/or limescale build up). In the latter case, this part should be replaced, and the machine needs to be descaled. In addition, the water must be treated with a water softener in the tank.
