Due to the size of the thread in the E61 group plug, and the size of the thermometer itself, the wall of this adapter gets very thin in that area. It takes very little torque when you are tightening the adapter into the E61 plug port to “unzip” the adapter in half, torqueing it apart into two pieces. The torque was low enough I thought I was compressing the o-ring, but i’d just destroyed the adapter. I wish this was steel rather than aluminum, but the price is great and it does the job so I just ordered a replacement.
